The hybrid of law, music, and business are what really attracts me to this major. Yeah, I love music, I want to be a producer and create music, but I also want to work towards my end goal: owning my own record label and being able to manage artists, all while producing. I strongly believe the education I receive at CPP will provide me with all the tools I'll need to be successful in this harsh and difficult industry. The fact that I get to intern at one of the world's biggest record labels is really what I'm excited for. Getting to work for a company that has already shown the success I wish for, and also meeting a bunch of people who are working in the industry I will be working in is just all so overwhelmingly exciting to me. I'm also currently working on getting a job within the music department at my school. I've been in contact with our music department's publicist, and she said she's got some cool stuff she can offer me to do when I get there this fall.
On a sidenote - I've fallen in love with the campus at Cal Poly. I've been there only twice thus far, but I love the area, (not far from Disneyland, the beach, downtown LA), I love the greenness of the campus, I love the weather, and the dorms... though It'll take time to get used to, I've begun to like. Both of my roommates I met back in my orientation and they're seriously such awesome people - I can't wait to room with them (I'm in a triple dorm). Their names are Garrison and Gerardo! Garrison is a great singer - he's written a song and posted a video of it on youtube, check it out!
Everything about college at this point seems so appealing and I'm incredibly excited to move onto the next chapter of my life. I can't wait to share with you guys all the great things I get to experience :) So, I hope you're willing to embark on this journey with me. Thanks for reading. :)
